Challenger Deep
Neal Shusterman
By: Aidan Walker
This book combines a real life tragedy with dynamic characters and sad plot twists. Throughout the book the main character Caden is suffering schizophrenia. This causes him to go to a mental hospital and create more and more complex illusions. You see him spiraling deeper throughout the book in the beginning in an illusion of a pirate ship. He later begins to come into reality again and make friends in the mental hospital. His earlier friends stop being his friend early in the book but become the most supporting friends ever. Overall this book had a great plot line and made me cry for Caden thinking about the horrible things happening to him.
